I have been painting mermaids for many years, and started doing so by sketching one on the A4 page of my one per day Diary each time I shampoo my hair, celebrating the good water, self-care, and renewal experienced when refreshing myself to enter a new week confidently.
The mermaid is the Emerging Artist, half under water and waves, half above. She needs to always persevere and believe in herself, despite all challenges. She is all magical and full of wonder. Forever reinventing herself.
This particular one was painted on an up-cycled stretched canvas gifted from a fellow artist, Basia.​
